Holt is one of the
oldest unincorporated communities in Michigan and is located in the
Charter Township of Delhi. Holt is neither a city nor a village. It
is a zip code area.
Holt's business district is located directly south and adjacent to
Lansing's south side shopping district. Holt's east side
subdivisions are directly south of Michigan State University making
this an excellent location for families employed at the school.
Holt is a wonderful area for raising
children. Holt
Public School district is comprised of 13 schools,
including one year round elementary. Four Holt
Schools have been named Michigan Exemplary Schools
by the State Board of Education, and Holt High
School has been honored as one of the top 100
schools in the nation, recognized through the Award
of a Presidential Blue Ribbon. With Michigan State University next door, as well as
the Lansing Community College,
Davenport College of Business, and Cooley Law School, Holt is at the
center of lifelong learning.
Delhi
Township has seven parks with more than 620 acres
which include a beachfront swimming area, a sledding
hill, tennis courts, softball fields, basketball
courts, playgrounds, trails and pavilions.
While maintaining its small town
atmosphere, Delhi Township offers many opportunities, whether
personal, recreational or business. It is home to many national and
international companies which provide a broad range of products and
services around the world.
